A new option for part sales

FinditParts has released an innovative graphic showing how technology is revolutionizing the trucking industry. The graphic, linked at right, shows a variety of areas where business has changed and improved due to technological advancements.

According to David Seewack, CEO at FinditParts.com, “Technology is creating an eco-system that will forever change the industry.”

FinditParts notes five specific areas that are seeing major technological growth: e-commerce for part sales, automatic vehicle location units, mobile apps, electronic logbooker and pre-pass systems.

That first area is a must for aftermarket businesses. FindItParts.com has more than 2,000,000 unique parts numbers in its heavy-duty parts database, and the program sells and distributors parts nationwide.

While your business may not want to sell brake shoes nationwide, creating an online shopping and ordering system for customers is still a great idea. Everyone is too busy to take a weekly part order over the phone anymore, and really, why would you want to?

Online ordering allows your customers to quickly search and select exactly what parts they need and instantaneously place orders. It also eliminates miscommunication that was common during phone calls, and provides customers an opportunity to order a part at any time.

It makes things faster for everyone. That’s a good idea.
