International Brake founder passes away
James E. Lyle, founder and former president of International Brake Industries Inc., passed away at his home Wednesday, June 4. He was 76.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Stephen Blum and the Rev. David M. Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery in Lima, Ohio.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, where a wake service will begin at 8 p.m.
Along with his wife (Jeanne), he is survived by three daughters: Julie Lyle of Columbus, Jan (Dr. Tim) Chase of Marion, and Jill (Marty) Garlock of Lima; eight grandchildren: Sara (Chris) Barrett, Teresa (Brandon) Autrey, Jennifer Smith, Taylor Chase, Matt Chase, Amber Garlock, J.J. Garlock, Mitchell Garlock; one great grandson Preston Barrett; brother-in-law David (Shirley) Kriegel of Lima; sister-in-law Chris (Bob) Riley of Fort Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He founded International Brake Industries in 1967, serving as its president until 1999, when he retired. He also served as chairman of Brake System Parts Manufacturing Council.
