Paccar parts, aftermarket sales set record
David Danforth, PACCAR Parts general manager, said Tuesday the company’s aftermarket parts segment turned in a record for quarterly sales helped by “improving truck utilization and the age of the North American industry truck fleet.”
Paccar’s parts segment revenue hit $715.3 million in the third quarter, the company says.
Mark Pigott, Paccar chairman and chief executive officer, attributed much of that success to his parts sales team and the growing number of Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF trucks on the road.
“We have the largest population of Paccar vehicles on the road in our history,” Pigott says estimating the company has 1.5 million trucks on the road globally. “And we have more dealers.”
Pigott says Paccar’s parts sales team has been aggressive in reaching out to customers with a “broad approach to the parts marketplace”, adding they were aided by a growing distribution network.
“PACCAR’s 16 parts distribution centers (PDC) support (more than) 2,000 DAF, Kenworth and Peterbilt dealer locations to deliver industry-leading customer service,” Danforth says. “PACCAR completed a new PDC in Brazil and an expansion of the Lancaster, Pennsylvania PDC that doubled its warehouse space.”
