Pacific Truck Centers donates truck for tech training
In a partnership with Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), Pacific Truck Centers, recently donated a used 2007 Freightliner Century Class truck to the Diesel Technology Department at Rogue Community College (RCC) in Medford, Ore.
Managers at Pacific say they first approached Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) in Portland earlier this fall about obtaining a truck as a gift to the college, which will be used for training.
“The donation is the most technologically advanced piece of equipment our program has for training students, and has substantially raised the bar to our curriculum,” says Kemp Pheley, Diesel Technology Department Chair at RCC.
Duane Stainbrook at Portland Freightliner helped secure the truck which features an automatic transmission, RT40-145 differentials and 2007 emissions.
Todd Tracy, Pacific’s New Truck Sales Manager, drove the truck to the Medford branch from Portland, and Pacific’s Travis Greene delivered it to RCC during their board meeting last month.
The donated Freightliner will be used for complete system training at RCC’s Diesel Technology Department, which includes the engine, transmission, chassis, and differentials.
