Toyo Tire USA announces the Toyo M144 has received SmartWaysm verification, confirming it meets U.S. EPA standards for low-rolling resistance.
The addition of this regional steer tire to the Toyo Tires SmartWay line-up gives customers more choices when selecting fuel efficient tires for their commercial trucks, the company says.
“The M144 is a part of our growing selection of SmartWay verified tires,” says Lowell Slimp, senior product manager, commercial truck tires, Toyo Tire USA. “We are dedicated to expanding the number of these low rolling resistance products, with more announcements planned for later this year.”
Built using Toyo Tires e-balance technology, the M144 provides highly-competitive, low-cost mileage performance, the company says. An optimized casing profile provides better retreadability, helping to reduce overall operating costs.
The M144 is available in four sizes: an H-rated 295/80R22.5, a J-rated 305/70R22.5, and two L-rated sizes – 305/70R22.5 and 315/80R22.5.
In addition to the M144, Toyo says it also offers the following SmartWay verified products: the M177 steer tire for regional to long-haul; the M137 steer tire for long-haul; the M657 drive tire for regional to long-haul; and the M157 trailer position free-rolling tire.
