TMD honored by Frost & Sullivan

TMD Friction has won the 2015 “European Original Equipment Brake Friction Material – Customer Value Leadership award from Frost & Sullivan.

“We feel very honored by this award, and it recognizes our continuous efforts to increase customer value,” says John Hudson, president and CEO of TMD Friction Group.

The Frost & Sullivan award is presented to a company that demonstrates excellence in implementing a focused customer strategy and proactively creating customer value for a customer.

In 2013, TMD Friction established four strategic business units, adapting the corporate structure of the company to more effectively support the specific needs of customers from inside their own specific business environment, the company says. In order to individually target and deliver on customer specific requirements, TMD Friction says it has further refined and reinforced the “Product Development and Introduction Process” for all customer projects.

“In this way, TMD Friction ensures that each customers’ needs as well as all project specific requirements are always addressed, and always in focus, in all we do,” says Hudson.

“As demonstrated by TMD Friction, the key to the long-term success of any company is its ability to continuously nurture and enhance the value of its products and/or services to its customers,” says Krishna Srinivasan, global president and managing partner at Frost & Sullivan.

“TMD Friction will in the future continue to strive for increasing customer value, just as we have done over the past 137 years of our history. Recently we announced a €53 million investment plan for our facility in Essen, Germany. In building what will be a world leading friction material manufacturing and raw material mixing facility, utilising ground breaking innovation and technology, we are clearly demonstrating to our customers our commitment to a future of continuous improvement,” adds Hudson.
