The North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE) and Carbon War Room introduce the new www.truckingefficiency.org.

A joint effort between the two groups, Trucking Efficiency is dedicated to identifying and promoting efficient technologies for the commercial vehicle marketplace.

“This initiative will stimulate increased adoption of efficiency technologies among truck owners and operators no matter what size, helping them make significant, long-term savings on fuel costs and carbon emissions,” says Sir Richard Branson, founder of Carbon War Room.

Trucking Efficiency releases 6×2 axle confidence report

Trucking Efficiency has discovered 6x2 axles can lower fuel consumption, vehicle weight, maintenance expenses and, in some cases, improve stability.

Trucking Efficiency’s new site offers comprehensive, free publicly-accessible, and unbiased knowledge hub for around 70 trucking efficiency technologies, including aerodynamics, tires, and idle reduction. Trucking Efficiency will offer truckers and fleet owners the opportunity to save between 30 percent to 50 percent in the fuel costs through the uptake of suites of technologies, the groups say.

The new site debuted during a segment last week on CNBC’s Squawk Box.

“The challenge for the industry so far has been what information and data to believe and how confident a fleet owner should be in the technology’s return on investment. To date only the larger fleets have had the resources to commission tests to understand a technology’s performance and payback,” says Mike Roeth, executive director at NACFE.

“Truckingefficiency.org offers a first-of-a-kind, independent guide to help owners and operators make decisions about which technologies they should adopt to improve efficiency, save fuel, and cut carbon emissions from their fleet.”
