RETRAC introduces folding rear step for easy, safe access to cargo areas

RETRAC has introduced the HighRise, a folding rear entry stepRETRAC has introduced the HighRise, a folding rear entry step specifically designed for safe, easy and efficient access to trailers and cargo areas, and its installation can be completed in minutes.

The HighRise includes a corrosion-resistant, auto-stowing roller mechanism that prevents damage when backing up, and the intuitive, patent-pending, counterbalance design keeps the step securely in a stowed position during travel. It attaches to the 4-in. bumper beam on most semi-trailers, box trucks and flat decks with four-bolt installation. High-strength, durable, 7-gauge steel construction accommodates up to a 600-pound workload limit, the company says.

The ergonomic design enhances safety and promotes worker health by reducing strain when climbing in and out of trailers or cargo areas. The grated steps provide traction, even when wet. Easier rear access also increases speed and efficiency.

“We developed the HighRise after seeing first-hand how drivers and others have to haul themselves up into a trailer to check load stability and other trailer functions, which is physically demanding and time-consuming,“ says Jason Gould, RETRAC national sales manager.

“We continue to focus our efforts on providing thoughtfully designed products that help individuals work smarter. The HighRise step can make this daily routine much easier and safer,” Gould says.
