U.S. Truck Parts & Sales was started by Vaughn Thompson in 1978 but the Thompson family’s history in the truck industry began much earlier.
In 1949 EV “Sonny” Thompson started a used truck parts business in Corpus Christi, Texas, along with AA “Slats” Allen, John Plant, and Raymond Jowers. EV Thompson eventually moved to several locations around the state and in 1974 he started Central Truck Parts, located in Dallas at the corner of Irving Blvd. and Mockingbird Ln. His three sons, Vaughn, Brian, and Raymond, all worked at that location with him to learn the business. In 2016 Sonny Thompson, Raymond’s son, made the decision to move away from a franchised truck sales corporation and take U.S. Truck Parts into the 21st century. He purchased the company from Vaughn to pursue his vision.
Over the years, U.S. Truck Parts & Sales has made the necessary changes to support customers at the highest possible level with a focus on rebuilt transmissions and differentials, pull-out engines, engine parts and body parts.
“We are excited to expand our presence in the DFW area with the acquisition of U.S. Truck Parts & Sales LLC,” says Brian Bruckner, president, Bruckner Truck Sales. “They have a history of providing great customer service and a ‘do what it takes’ attitude. We will continue to provide that same level of service with the existing team.”
Bruckner Truck Sales says Sonny Thompson, Ace Allen and their team will continue in their roles with Bruckners as they are true subject matter experts in their field. U.S. Truck Parts & Sales also will maintain the same hours of operation, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
