Pace signPace Transportation Services announces the asset purchase of Lakeshore Utility Trailer, a trailer dealership with locations in Detroit and Sterling Heights, Mich., and Toledo, Ohio.

Since its start in 1979, Lakeshore Utility Trailer has become a leader in providing products and service in the eastern Michigan and northern Ohio marketplaces.  At the time of the acquisition, it had grown to three locations with over 50 employees.

“We believe that this acquisition will solidify Pace’s presence in Michigan by providing us with a single main name plate of Stoughton for the dry van and reefer trailer market,” says Steve Schneider, Pace president and COO. “Additionally, this growth will help us improve our flexibility to manage our sales and leasing fleet more efficiently between all Pace locations.”

He adds, “We are very excited to partner with Lakeshore’s knowledgeable and experienced sales, service, parts and graphics teams to continue their mission of helping their customers achieve growth and increased profitability year after year.”

In addition to sales and leasing, Pace notes it also offers financing, 24/7 mobile repair, a fully stocked parts warehouse, and a service center for full collision tractor and trailer repair across its dealer network.
