A number of resources and webinars recently have been announced to aid companies in the trucking industry in managing the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and its impact on business.

CLA addressed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and Managing Liquidity last week; this week’s lessons will touch on Interpreting the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. CLA says today’s course will be held at 2 p.m. CT, and will be followed with a second lesson Thursday at the same time. Interested parties can learn more and sign up for the coronavirus-related training courses HERE.

CLA also is holding a complimentary webinar this morning to help dealers understand understand the latest changes impacting dealers in the current health and economic climate. During the 11 a.m. CT webinar, dealers will hear strategies to help navigate operational, cash flow and bank financing issues. CLA also will cover the rapidly changing tax environment to keep dealers informed. Registration for this webinar can be found HERE.

Other firms are equally busy educating the industry.

The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) and MacKay & Company will hold a joint webinar next week to share information on coronavirus and its impact on the commercial vehicle industry and heavy duty aftermarket. The webinar will feature analysis from MacKay & Company Economist Dr. Bob Dieli as well as Richard Anderson, director, market research and analysis, and John Blodgett, vice president, sales and marketing. The webinar is set for 1 p.m. CT, April 8, and registration for the webinar can be found HERE.

Firms also are providing written reports and guidance for the market, such as this CARES Act explainer for small businesses from DHG Dealerships, a strategic partner of KEA Advisors, and this coronavirus content library from FTR Transportation Intelligence. The Institute of Supply Management, ACT Research and CLA also released helpful information on the pandemic’s impact on global supply chains in recent weeks.

Additionally, with President Trump extending the country’s national emergency through April and America’s number of confirmed positive COVID-19 coronavirus cases beginning to dwarf the rest of the world, even more resources likely will be introduced to the industry in the coming days. Trucks, Parts, Service will provide more information on these resources as they are released.
