Volunteers from Bendix, along with one of the Bendix trucks, recently visited Prospect Elementary School in Elyria, Ohio to work with Junior Achievement of Greater Cleveland and help inspire and prepare students for future success.

Bendix has been working with JA of Greater Cleveland and Elyria City Schools since early 2011 as part of Junior Achievement’s “JA Blitz Day” educational program.

According to Bendix, each year, volunteers from a variety of positions within Bendix teach lessons with support from teachers executive. They cover everything from understanding community services, such as fire and police departments, to how money moves through a local economy.

Each volunteer can also use their unique real-world work experience to offer examples and enhance the curriculum, Bendix says. This year, there were 22 Bendix volunteers, and they covered all 18 classrooms at Prospect Elementary (first through fifth grades).
