Horton introduces a comprehensive library of engine cooling system technical training videos for on-highway aftermarket dealers and distributors.

Published on the company’s YouTube channel and website, the videos tackle topics from general engine cooling knowledge to specific, step-by-step repair and replacement of different airflow components. Horton says parts managers, service technicians and diesel technicians can access the training content on demand and free of charge via Horton platforms, which will be updated continuously.

“In this day and age, service shops are inundated with mass amounts of information regarding hundreds of parts,” says Mat Stahl, Horton’s on-highway product manager. “Our video library makes it simple to learn or get a quick refresher on how engine cooling systems work, how to work with fans and fan drives, and why it’s important to ensure these components are a central part of dealer and distributor’s preventive maintenance program.”

Produced by BusyBoy Productions and featuring Twin Cities on-air talent Doug Sydney, Horton says the new series of videos includes the following installments:

  • Heavy-duty engine cooling systems, explained
  • How fan clutches impact engine performance
  • Different fan options for heavy-duty engines
  • Understanding variable-speed fan drives
  • Preventive maintenance for semi-truck cooling systems
  • Preventive maintenance for pneumatic friction clutches
  • How to rebuild Horton’s HT/S Advantage fan clutch using a repair kit
  • How to rebuild a Horton DM Advantage fan clutch using a repair kit
  • How to replace a Horton DM Advantage fan clutch
  • How to install the Horton K32 Dual Pilot fan clutch

The company says its new video library will serve as an on-demand complement to the training requested by trucking’s top parts experts and technicians, and adds it plans to add more content to the library in the coming weeks and months.

“We strive to deliver a lot more than just a quality product,” Stahl says. “One of Horton’s main goals is to give customers the tools they need to be successful. Through video training, the men and women who keep the USA, Canada and Mexico’s transportation industry on the road can do their job quicker and more efficiently, with a high-quality aid to guide them through the process – all from their laptop, smartphone or tablet, in the office or the service bay.”
