FedEx Freight's Nickles named TMCSuperTech Grand Champion

A group of men with an award, certificate and prizes at TMCSuperTech

Doug Nickles, from FedEx Freight in East Moline, Ill., was named the TMCSuperTech Grand Champion on Wednesday. FedEx Freight swept the podium at the Cleveland competition.

"Winning TMCSuperTech is a tremendous achievement and clearly demonstrates Doug's dedication to service and professionalism," says TMC Executive Director Robert Braswell. "As always, this competition brings out the best in our industry and Dough, and the rest of his FedEx Freight teammates, rose to the occasion, providing real examples of knowledge and skills needed to keep this industry moving." 

Nickles and 2019 TMCSuperTech Grand Champion Kelby Bentley, also from FedEx Freight, also won the team title this year. FedEx Freight's Wesley Salley from Round Rock, Texas, in second and Bentley in third completed the sweep.

Timothy Rose, a Ferris State University student, won the TMCFutureTech National Student Technician Skills competition. Ferris State's Maxwell Chatman came in second and Northwest Technical Institute's Joshua Waldrep placed third. 

FedEx Freight's Philip Barlow repeated as the TMCSuperTech Light and Medium Vehicle Champion. Zachary Nikorak and Alan Snyder from Cox Automotive Mobility finished second and third. 

TMCSuperTech's Trailer Track competition also went to FedEx Freight. Cory Westfall was champion in that contest, with Michael Kerfoot Jr. of Cox Automotive coming in second and Isaac Perez of FedEx Freight placing third.
