Trimble Fleet Manager now features Connected Locations, a workflow that provides industry-average dwell time metrics to fleet managers.

"This Connected Locations integration with Trimble Fleet Manager significantly enhances our customers' ability to manage their fleets," says Trimble Senior Vice President Ron Bisio. "Fleets can't get this level of precise commercial location data anywhere else, and by leveraging the Trimble Transportation Cloud, we're helping solve challenges around inefficient delivery, scheduling and driver utilization."

Connected Locations will empower managers to make better planning decisions, improve service level agreement adherence and utilize assets and drivers more efficiently, Trimble says.

Connected Locations uses precise polygonal geofences for pick-up and drop-off locations, then combines anonymized live and historical GPS data streams with millions of locations, resulting in an average dwell time for a location.

The company offers a similar service in its Engage Lane service.
