Continental plants mark anniversaries

Three key Continental plants are marking milestones this year. The Clinton, Miss., plant has been running for five years; the Sumter, S.C., plant for 10 years; and the Mount Vernon, Ill., plant for 50 years.

Continental makes more than 16 million tires with 6,700 manufacturing employees in the U.S. It has invested more than $1.5 billion in American tire manufacturing operations.
