Vanguard breaks ground on new Arizona store

Vanguard Truck Centers recently broke ground on a 60,000 sq.-ft., facility located on 12 acres in Tolleson, Ariz.

The groundbreaking ceremony, attended by key stakeholders and community representatives, highlighted Vanguard's commitment to growth and service excellence in the region, the company states. Haydon Building, the construction company overseeing the project, sponsored the event. Alongside Haydon were Vanguard’s leadership team, Tolleson city officials and project design and management professionals from Fitzgerald Associates and Impact Development Management.

In a show of support and partnership, Tolleson’s vice mayor, Lupe Bandin, spoke at the occasion, emphasizing the significance of Vanguard’s investment in the local community. The presence of city officials and first responders underscored the collaborative spirit driving this facility project.

Speeches delivered by Ryan Larsen, president of Vanguard’s Arizona Operations, and Tom Ewing, president and CEO of Vanguard Truck Centers, also highlighted the strategic importance of the new location and the strong partnership with the city of Tolleson.

“Our newest location in Tolleson is the latest example of our commitment to a best-in-class location footprint and facility quality for the commercial truck markets we serve. This is not just a relocation, but a strategic expansion of our presence in the greater Phoenix market, allowing us to better serve our customers through multiple facilities and bringing additional jobs to the community,” Ewing says.

Situated just south of I-10 at 91st Ave and Latham St, Vanguard says the new facility will have 26 service bays in a fully air-conditioned shop, a 24,000 sq.-ft., parts warehouse, a state-of-the-art showroom and office area, and electric charging capabilities. Vanguard says the location will cater to a range of needs, including new Volvo and Mack New truck sales, Premium Used truck sales, Finance & Insurance, Vanguard Truck Leasing and comprehensive parts and service offerings.

After the Tolleson opening, Vanguard states it will continue to operate its existing 19th Ave. location in Phoenix, with expanded capacity for parts and service, body shop and Vanguard Truck Leasing operations.
