MERA announces changes to board

The Motor & Equipment Remanufacturers Association (MERA) has added Michael Cardone III, executive vice chairman, CARDONE Industries, Inc., to the MERA Board of Directors.

Cardone III was elected to fill the board seat vacated by MERA Founding Chairman Michael Cardone Jr.

The son of Michael Cardone Jr., Cardone III has worked in the family business since 1998. Prior to his promotion to the senior leadership team, Cardone III held various positions in business development, project management, and finance, MERA says His product experience includes rotating electrics, pumps, brakes, and more across CARDONE Industries’ extensive product lines.

“It is an honor to serve as MERA chairman, and to carry on the work started by Michael Cardone Jr.,” says MERA Chairman Peter Butterfield, chairman and CEO of Omega Environmental Technologies. “Michael Cardone III’s experience and leadership with one of America’s greatest remanufactured parts suppliers is valued by the MERA Board of Directors.”

MERA looks forward to working with Cardone III to advance the business interests of its members. At the same time, Cardone Jr.’s presence and leadership will be missed. As a prominent champion for the remanufacturing industry, manufacturing jobs, and environmental sustainability, Cardone Jr. has been a stalwart supporter of MERA and MEMA, the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association. MERA is the remanufacturing and sustainability division of MEMA, which has been advocating on behalf of the motor vehicle supplier industry since 1904. Cardone Jr. is a past MEMA chairman and the founding chairman of MERA.
