FlowBelow Aero Inc., announced Sunday that its adding two technologies to the company’s product line.
The announcement was made during the Technology & Maintenance Council’s Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tenn.
The release of the tractor mounted AeroFender and Trailer AeroKit system will complement the company’s flagship Tractor AeroKit system.
The AeroFender is a patented aerodynamic replacement for standard quarter fenders. The device is installed in front of the forward-most drive wheels of single axle and tandem-axle tractors and helps direct airflow past the tractor drive wheels.
The product will be available in late 2017.
The Trailer AeroKit system, which the company says is the first aerodynamic product of its kind that is mounted directly to the trailer suspension. It utilizes wheel covers with patented fairings in front, between and behind the wheels. The pieces work together to address the “complex airflow around the trailer wheels and suspension.”
“FlowBelow’s engineering and product expertise is in managing the airflow around the underbody and the wheels of the vehicle,” says Josh Butler, FlowBelow Aero’s CEO and founder.
“By expanding our line of products to the trailer, we will be able to build on the proven performance of the Tractor AeroKit and offer even more significant fuel-savings opportunities for fleets.”
Butler says the installation of both products takes between 60-90 minutes.
