AFA has introduced an overhaul kit for Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines that features forged steel pistons.
AFA says the pistons provide higher temperature performance and durability, are magnanese phosphate coated for improved initial start-up and break-in performance, are specially designed for high load or severe-duty conditions and feature improved cooling passages for better performance.
The overhaul kit includes carbon steel chromed ring tops, the forged steel pistons, induction hardened liners, tri-metal advanced alloy rod and main bearings, proprietary steel core and molded rubber technology and multi-layer graphite head gaskets with steel cores.
