Myers named group president at Alcoa

Tim Myers has been named group president, Alcoa Transportation and Construction Solutions (TCS).

In this role, Alcoa says Myers’ responsibilities will include oversight of two key Alcoa business units: Alcoa Wheel & Transportation Products (AWTP) and Building & Construction Systems (BCS). TCS operates businesses throughout North America, Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. Myers also will become a member of the Alcoa Executive Council, the team that sets strategic direction for the company.

“During his 25-year Alcoa career, Tim has successfully combined breakthrough product and process technology development with a deep commercial orientation to create value for our customers and for Alcoa,” says Alcoa CEO, Klaus Kleinfeld. “That winning approach will be key to driving greater profitable growth in the commercial transportation and building and construction markets for Alcoa today, and for Arconic tomorrow.”

Myers is currently president of Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products (AWTP), a business that leads the market for forged aluminum wheels and other structures that serve the commercial transportation industry.  AWTP has operations in North America, Europe, China, South Africa, Australia and Japan.  Prior to this assignment, Tim was vice president and general manager, Commercial Vehicle Wheels for the Alcoa Wheel Products business, in which capacity he oversaw global Alcoa truck wheel plants as well as sub-assembly and logistics sites in the U.S. and Canada.

Under Myers’ leadership, AWTP has become a highly innovative business with significant market share and fast-growing international operations, the company says.
