The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is focusing on five priorities: electronic logging devices; CSA; safety fitness data; unified registration systems; and roadside inspection software improvement program, PSI’s Al Cohn writes in this month’s Commercial Fleet Tire Digest.
Cohn says FMCSA identified these priorities during a presentation at a recent Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance meeting in Buffalo, N.Y.
CVSA is just one of many outlets tasked with enforcing programs set forth by FMCSA to address these issues, and Cohn writes in this month’s issue that both sides are attempting to work together (along with Canadian and Mexican programs as well) to improve fleet safety and performance in North America.
More from Cohn on the FMCSA’s presentation at the CVSA meeting can be found in this month’s Commercial Fleet Tire Digest here.
