Horton introduces Klondike aftermarket parts line

Updated Dec 6, 2019

Horton has expanded its product reach in the aftermarket with Klondike by Horton.

Soft launched today, Klondike is a new value brand of aftermarket fan clutches, remans, repair kits and accessories. Horton Project Manager Mathew Stahl says the line was developed to give second and third vehicle owners operating older tractors a higher-quality, dependable fan clutch option at a competitive price. Klondike is “aimed at keeping trucks five-plus years old on the road,” he says.

Designed, built and tested to meet OEM specifications, Stahl adds Klondike’s product line uses a modular design approach that will reduce the number of parts numbers distributors will need to carry to service aftermarket customers. He says Klondike has fewer part numbers than even some third-party aftermarket competitors.

“We want to reduce SKU count and part number complexity,” he says.

Regarding the components in the line, Horton says the two-speed, on/off and fan clutch kits feature single-row bearings with high-temperature grease and Viton seals for reliable operation. While they offer the high torque necessary to turn large fans, Horton says Klondike fan clutches engage smoothly and more gradually than competitive options, to enhance belt and tensioner life.

Horton also has included in its Klondike line a wide array of products to accommodate the widest variety of needs. The initial offering includes DM On/Off, DM Two-Speed, HT/S On/Off, S-Type On/Off and 32 On/Off fan clutches. The line also features a full complement of associated repair kits, as well as valves and switches.

The Klondike repair kits are universal to accommodate a wide range of applications. Moreover, the on/off and two-speed fan clutches feature dual pilots of (2.56 and 5.0 in.) to further economize inventory requirements. Overall, the company says the design and low parts count help make the fan clutches easy to install and maintain.

Horton says all fan clutches, kits and accessories come with a standard one-year warranty. The Klondike by Horton line of products will be phased into the market, starting with select dealers and distributors, who can order starting Jan. 21, 2019. The line will also be part of Horton’s QuickShip program for truck-down situations, the company says.
