Thermo King recognized three dealers with inaugural Thermo King Community Impact Awards.

Established to celebrate dealerships who demonstrate outstanding dedication to community, volunteerism and local leadership, the first awards were presented to Thermo King Salinas in California; Thermo King of the Southeast with locations in Florida, Mississippi and Georgia; and Videfirgo of Brazil.

"More than 50 nominations were submitted for our first-ever Thermo King Community Impact Award, a testament to the amazing work being done to uplift our local communities through volunteerism and donations," says Adam Wittwer, president of Thermo King Americas. "Among our top eight submissions from dealers, there were nearly 240 hours volunteered, 40+ organizations served and monetary donations ranging between $5,000 and more than $20,000 — all making better happen."

The awards were handed out at the company's annual dealer principal meeting. Judging criteria for the awards included volunteer participation, charitable contributions, community partnerships, recognition, sustainability and environmental initiatives, inclusivity, employee engagement, creativity, longevity of programs and impact made, all in consideration of dealership size.

About the dealers

"This demonstrates just how impactful our dealer network is — and the difference we can make thanks to the support of our 200+ Thermo King dealership locations throughout the Americas," Wittwer says. "Amplified by our We Move Food initiative, we are creating a lasting effect on our communities. In fact, our dealer and corporate teams raised an additional $32,000 to support the program's mission of enabling access to fresh, nutritious food for communities that need it most.

Videfrigo of Brazil was chosen for its work in raising donations for schools, daycare centers and cancer treatment centers to promote social well-being, risk prevention and a promising future.

Thermo King of the Southeast recorded more than 160 volunteer hours in 2025 and supports a long list of charitable organizations including food banks, veterans groups, agencies for disadvantaged youth and law enforcement organizations. The dealership donates both money and business resources and employee skillsets to support organizations' needs.

Thermo King Salinas volunteered employee time and donated a refrigerated trailer for a community Thanksgiving dinner that dates back to 1986. What started as food donations from a 12-foot trailer has grown to donations that fill a 28-foot Thermo King reefer trailer that held enough food to feed 5,000 people.
