The closures, which will be permanent, is attributed to "current market conditions and the operational steps necessary to support the long-term health of the business," the company said in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice.
"This decision was not made lightly," American Trailer says.
American Trailer says it's committed to supporting the affected employees, which include production, maintenance, materials, quality, safety, administrative and leadership roles.
The company also says it expects employees to continue working during the transition, supporting production and facility decommissioning.
