Daimler Truck: North American sales up 51%

North American sales were up 51% in the third quarter, Daimler Trucks says.

Daimler Truck Group reports its third-quarter sales were up 26% year-over-year. 

That improvement was largely buoyed by North American sales jumping 51% in the same interval. Mercedes-Benz Trucks were up 13% and Daimler Buses was down 16%.

The group also sold fewer battery-electric vehicles in the quarter. The total was 28% to 1,207 units. 

Daimler will report on detail on its third-quarter financials and more on Nov. 6.
