Who’s in the news: Our weekly trucking employment report

The following employment changes were announced to the trucking industry last week (July 15-21, 2019).

Dayco has named Joel E. Wiegert CEO. Wiegert also has been named a member of Dayco’s board of managers.
Haig Partners has hired John Davis as managing director.
Darcy Arbuthnot has been hired at Capital Gear to fill the newly created position of account manager, Prairies and Northern Ontario.

Credit card surcharges here to stay

About a third of all merchants are adding surcharges for customer purchases made with credit cards. And even though customers aren’t happy to see those surcharges, most merchants adding them view them as a long-term solution.
