California Truck Centers has opened a new full-service Freightliner dealership, Keyes Truck Center, in Keyes, Calif., located off CA-99.
The additional facility expands the company's reach to eight full-service locations in central and northern California, all owned and operated by the Howard family.
Complete with 18 service bays, over $1.4 million in parts inventory, new and used truck sales and financing, the new facility is in a prime location and designed to serve the Stanislaus and Merced counties as well as transient truck traffic moving up and down CA-99, the company says.
Keyes Truck Center houses state-of-the-art amenities including chassis dynamometer, a Detroit e-Fill charging station in anticipation of Freightliner’s eMobility line of electric trucks. Transient drivers also will appreciate the well-appointed drivers lounge with big screen TV and a workspace including wifi service, the company says.
When California Truck Centers first arrived in the Stanislaus area in 2017, it operated as a parts-only store serving local businesses with OEM truck parts. As time progressed, the need for truck services and sales grew. The Howard family called on the expertise and assistance of RRM Design Group and Specialty Construction, who designed and constructed another facility, Central Coast Truck Center. These companies immediately began planning the development of this new facility and in early 2022, they broke ground in Keyes, Calif., for the new full-service Freightliner Dealership. Through accelerated construction and preparation of transitioning by Keyes Truck Center employees, the dealership was able to have a Grand Opening in the spring of 2023 that included a Ribbon Cutting by the Howard Family and all Keyes Truck Center employees.
This expansion in Keyes has also led to additional career opportunities for the Central Valley, the company says. While the Keyes Truck Center’s dealership was under construction, the dealership began operating out of a smaller parts store and service shop in Ceres, Calif., with around 30 employees. With the newly built dealership in Keyes completed, management anticipates employing roughly 35 more employees in the next year. With heavy emphasis on journeyman service technicians, technician apprentices, and everything in between, the company says employment growth is critical. Keyes Truck Center offers a great employment package. Additionally, in-house training simplifies the certification process for technicians, and there is even a tool program to assist them, the company says.
