The Mojave Truck Stop will be America's first Black-owned truck stop, owners say. The project is expected to break ground in October.
Adjacent to the Mojave Air & Space Port and near the Mojave Inland Port, the truck stop is being developed by Rich Marshall and Amir Faquir, founders of The Little Red Hen Travel Centers. It will be off U.S. 58 and Minard Trail in Kern County, California.
The truck stop is projected to serve 2,120 customers per day and distribute 14 million gallons of fuel annually. It will include more than 150 truck parking stalls, 18 diesel lanes, truck maintenance services, security, EV charging stations, hydrogen fuel stations and megawatt electric truck charges. Mojave Truck Stop is in a biodiesel partnership with Phillips 66 and plans to power its operations with solar.
There will be 7,500 square feet of retail space, along with a business center, hot meals, restrooms, showers and laundry facilities, and travel necessities.
