FTR announces keynote speakers for Transportation Conference

Freight Transportation Research (FTR) announced on Tuesday the keynote speakers for its Annual Transportation Conference in Indianapolis.

Keynotes for the 26th annual event, Aug. 31-Sept. 3, will be: 

  • Aug. 31: Sean Kenney, CEO of Hyundai Translead. Kinney will share an OEM perspective on the U.S. trailer market, addressing replacement demand, dry van/reefer/flatbed dynamics, trade and sourcing risk, pricing and production discipline, and how manufacturers and fleets are preparing for the next equipment cycle.
  • Sept. 1: Erin Van Zeeland, senior vice president and general manager of van truckload at Schneider National. He will address the state of the truck freight market, including demand trends, pricing dynamics and strategic priorities.
  • Sept. 2: Dan Ujczo, associate general counsel at Cenovus Energy. Ujczo will give an update on U.S. trade policy under the current administration paying special attention to USMCA negotiations and highlighting what we can expect to see over the coming months and years.
  • Sept. 3: Jeff Lytle, president of CIT Rail. He will provide insights on the rail equipment industry.
  • Sept. 3: Brian Smalley, executive vice president of marketing and sales at National Steel Car Limited. He will address the dynamics for railcar builders as well as future challenges and opportunities for manufacturers, suppliers and customers. 

FTR's conference is organized into customized two-day tracks. Attendees can tailor their experience by choosing the track most relevant to their business. The truck track runs Aug. 31-Sept. 1, focusing on equipment one day and freight the next. The freight track overlaps with the truck freight day on Sept. 1 and going into rail freight on Sept. 2. The rail track covers rail freight on Sept. 2 and rail equipment on Sept. 3. 

There will also be presentations by FTR analysts and other industry experts.
