Triangle Suspension updates spring corrosion protection

Updated May 17, 2019

Triangle Suspension Systems has substantially improved the corrosion protection of its multi-leaf and parabolic springs by adding a new high performance, corrosion resistant water-based coating.

Triangle says damage caused by corrosion is an on-going and costly issue affecting most North American truck fleets. Triangle evaluated several coatings for salt spray corrosion results, dry time improvements and process capabilities in order to offer the industry leaf springs that would not show signs of corrosion in a short period of time. The test results for the new coating show that it offers three times the corrosion resistance distinguishing Triangle suspension leaf spring products as an excellent choice for vehicle operators, the company says.

Since the new coating continues to be a water-based product and low in VOC’s, Triangle says it is compliant to today’s environmental rules and guidelines and does not require a Proposition 65 warning label. Additionally, the new corrosion resistant Triangle leaf spring products are available throughout North America from its network of 1,400 distribution locations.
