Kinedyne announced Tuesday it is once again sponsoring International Cargo Securement Awareness Month in May and will soon hold a hour-long webinar in support of securement awareness.
A secondary objective of International Cargo Securement Awareness month is to help the industry prepare for the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Roadcheck, scheduled for June 4-6, 2019, n the United States, Canada and Mexico. The event is the largest targeted enforcement program on commercial motor vehicles in the world. Authorities reported issuing 2,080 out-of-service (OOS) cargo securement citations for violations during Roadcheck 2018 and 2,938 citations during Roadcheck 2017.
As part of its ongoing efforts to support cargo securement safety across the entire commercial vehicle industry, Kinedyne says it is again undertaking an awareness campaign and event sponsorship. The third annual International Cargo Securement Awareness Month is the logical extension of the ongoing training and support that Kinedyne has been delivering for over half a century, the company says.
“Fully understanding and conforming to best cargo securement safety practices isn’t just the law, it is the duty of every fleet and owner-operator in North America,” says Dan Schlotterbeck, president, Kinedyne. “Proper training of all operators and maintenance personnel is imperative to public safety, and the only way to assure all applicable standards, regulations and laws are being observed.”
Kinedyne says it will offer a free cargo securement regulation training webinar at 2 p.m. EDT on May 28. The webinar is titled “A Survivor’s Guide for Cargo Securement Inspections During International Roadcheck 2019,” and will follow Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
