Randon formalizes acquisition of Hercules trailers

Randon Companies has completed its purchase of the North American trailer manufacturer Hercules. First announced in July, the transaction was completed on Nov. 1. The move marks the entry of Randon Companies into a new market for the OEM business vertical. The transaction has an initial investment of approximately $40 million.

Hercules is a traditional trailers manufacturer specialized in base models for containers, with more than 60 years in the United States. The company is headquartered in Hillsborough, N.J. Another important achievement, which advances with the closing of the deal, is the certification obtained for the manufacturing, in the United States, of products with Randon brand, the company says.

"We have achieved this historic milestone for the company, believing that entering one of the largest markets of semi-trailers in the Western world is a fundamental move in the execution of the sustainable growth strategy we have planned, expanding our international participation in different geographies and enhancing synergies," says Randon CEO Sérgio L. Carvalho.

Randon Implementos is the largest manufacturer of semi-trailers in Latin America and is among the largest in the world. In addition to six units located in Brazil, the company maintains a plant in Argentina and works with partners for the assembly of semi-trailers in several strategic global logistics points in Central America and Africa, in addition to a national and international distribution network of more than 175 points, the company says.

Randon also is the parent company of Fras-le and JOST.
