
Thompson Truck & Trailer has announced that after 25 years as a local, family-owned company, the dealership group is joining Ascendance Truck Centers as of February 2025.
This transition combines a legacy of excellence with a vision for the future, fusing tradition with innovation and positions the organization to continue to be the premium one-stop solution for all commercial truck and trailer needs, the company says.
This acquisition includes 145 employees across all five Thompson Truck & Trailer dealership locations: Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Dubuque, Waterloo, and Sterling, Illinois. It also includes the Thompson Body Shop and Thompson Trailer Shop, both located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Thompson Tire & Retread is not included in this sale and will continue to operate independently, tire customers will experience no changes.
