Summit and Timberline mapSummit Truck Group announced Friday that Timberline International Trucks in Hot Springs, Ark., has become a parts-only sub-contractor for Summit Truck Group.

Timberline will be serviced out of Summit’s Russellville, Ark., location for all of its parts needs.

“This opportunity with Timberline International was presented at a time when Summit is working to grow their market, and the parts-only sub-contractor relationship works for Timberline as well,” says Scott Gill, executive vice president, finance and accounting, Summit Truck Group.

According to the company, it will be assigned by International Trucks the area of responsibility (AOR) formerly held by Timberline for warranty, service, and new trucks (highlighted in purple in the map), and will cover this market through Summit’s various Arkansas dealerships (in the green part of the map).

Summit CEO Justin Fink notes, “We are proud to create this partnership with a long-standing company in the Hot Springs market, and feel this is a mutually-beneficial relationship for both parties. The caliber of the management at Timberline made the decision easy for Summit.”

Timberline International Trucks remains in business and will maintain its parts customers and employees. The Hot Springs location will not be rebranded or renamed Summit Truck Group. The change for Timberline is that they will source their parts through Summit vs. directly through International/Navistar. Timberline employees will not become Summit Truck Group employees as part of this business transition, the company says.

Summit Truck Group adds it looks forward to a long and profitable partnership with Timberline International. Customers will continue to receive the great service that they have received in the past from Timberline, and will be supported for service, warranty, used trucks, new trucks, and lease and rental from Summit Truck Group locations in Russellville, Pine Bluff, Lowell, and Little Rock, Ark., the company says.
