Milwaukee Tool has introduced new impact wrenches to its line of M18 FUEL line.

Measuring at only 4.8 in. in length and delivering up to 250 ft,-lb. of nut-busting torque, Milwaukee’s next generation M18 FUEL compact impact wrenches deliver the performance needed in tight applications where larger impact wrenches cannot fit.

“With the third generation of our M18 FUEL compact impact wrenches we’ve been able to remove a full inch of length while increasing power, getting users into tighter spaces and eliminating the need to spend time dismantling surrounding components in order to access fasteners,” says Eric Rusch, group product manager, Milwaukee Tool. “This engineering breakthrough will make these the go-to impact wrenches for accessing tight spaces.”

True to all M18 FUEL solutions, the new M18 FUEL compact impact wrenches combine three exclusive innovations — the PowerState brushless motor, RedLink Plus intelligence, and RedLithium battery pack, the company says.

The PowerState brushless motor delivers the power to remove stubborn fasteners, while RedLink Plus Intelligence ensures maximum performance and protects the tool against overloads, overheating and over-discharge. The M18 RedLithium Battery Pack ensures these tools provide more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack, Milwaukee says.

The four-mode Drive Control offers greater precision with a range of pre-set RPM and IPM levels, selectable from a single button on the tool. By selecting Mode 4 when the tool is in forward, Auto Shut-Off control applies no more than 20 ft.-lb. of torque for hand-tight fastening applications to prevent overtightening. When the tool is in reverse, Mode 4 delivers Bolt Removal control, which delivers full torque output and then decreases RPMs once the bolt is loosened to prevent fastener drops.

Milwaukee Tool also has introduced its M18 FUEL mid-torque impact wrenches. Packing up to 650 ft-lb. of nut-busting torque while weighing in at only 5.1 lb., these new impacts offer the best power-to-weight ratio in their class for the most access in tight spaces and faster bolt removal, the company says.

“In 2017 we launched mid-torque impact wrenches, solutions that bridged the size and power gap between small compact impact wrenches and extremely powerful high torque impact wrenches. Now we’re delivering the next generation of these mid-torque impact wrenches, significantly decreasing the length while increasing the torque,” says Rusch.

“What will surprise most users about these new M18 FUEL mid-torque impact wrenches is their ability to tackle more than 90 percent of the daily applications, making this their go-to solution and allowing them to only reach for their high torque impacts when absolutely necessary.”

While up to 3lb. lighter than other high torque impact wrenches, these mid-torque impact wrenches are equipped with a PowerState brushless motor that generates the torque and speed needed to perform many of the same tasks, such as removing large bolts or lug nuts.

Additionally, as the most compact tools in their class, they can easily access stubborn fasteners in spaces where larger impact wrenches can’t fit, the company says. RedLink Plus Intelligence ensures maximum performance and protects the tools against overloads, overheating and over-discharge. The M18 RedLithium Battery Pack ensures these tools provide more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack.

The four-mode Drive Control offers greater precision with a range of pre-set RPM and IPM levels, selectable from a single button on the tool. By selecting Mode 4 when the tool is in forward, Auto Shut-Off control applies no more than 35 ft.-lb. of torque for hand-tight fastening applications to prevent overtightening. When the tool is in reverse, Mode 4 delivers Bolt Removal control, which delivers full torque output and then decreases RPMs once the bolt is loosened to prevent fastener drops.

For increased visibility in confined and low-light workspaces, both tools are also designed with tri-LEDs that deliver brighter light with less shadows.
