NACFE honored by GreenBiz

The North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE) has been named an “Organization to Watch” by GreenBiz Group in the 2019 edition of its annual “State of Green Business” report.

Each year, GreenBiz says the report looks at 10 key trends and dozens of metrics assessing how, and how much, companies are moving the needle on the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. NACFE was included as part of the trend ‘Electric Buses and Trucks Charge Ahead’ reflecting the organization’s leadership role on that topic.

“These organizations are showing the way for the business community and others to accelerate progress in sustainability,” says Joel Makower, chairman and executive editor, GreenBiz Group, and the report’s lead author. “We are proud to showcase NACFE on this list and applaud them for their leadership work.”

“As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary we’ve added a focus on guiding future technologies and that includes taking in-depth looks at various aspects of commercial battery electric vehicles,” says Mike Roeth, NACFE executive director. “We are honored that our work is being recognized as having a leadership role in providing clarity around electric trucks and help speed up the adoption of them where they make sense.”

NACFE has already published two Guidance Reports on electric vehicles: Electric Trucks: Where They Make Sense; and Medium-Duty Electric Trucks — Cost of Ownership.

“We are also in the process of putting the finishing touches on our third guidance report, Amping Up: Charging Infrastructure for Electric Trucks, which will be released early in March,” Roeth adds.

The trends in this year’s Green Biz report focus on the growing attention to product and packaging reuse, the growth of corporate action on deforestation, the rise of agricultural practices to mitigate climate change, the growth of electric trucks and buses, and the increased attention by institutional investors on companies’ environmental and social commitments and performance, the company says.
