The Maryland Chamber of Commerce selected K. Neal Truck & Bus Center (K. Neal) as a finalist for the 2019 Innovative Wellness Award.

As part of its organizational culture, K. Neal adopts the approach that when employees are healthy—physically, financially, mentally and emotionally—they will be happier and better equipped to not only take care of the customer, but also take care of their families, the company says.

By investing in different programs, K. Neal aims to improve the lives of all employees and, in turn, positively impact the company’s bottom line. The company motto is to take care of the customer, take care of the associate and reinvest back into the community. As such, K. Neal’s philosophy extends to its associates, or employees, through a holistic view on health and wellness.

Within the last year, the company implemented multiple programs to engage its diverse population, including boot camp with a personal trainer, mental health first aid certifications, six-week financial literacy classes and professional career coaching, K. Neal says.

“We believe that it is essential for each employee to be the best version of themselves—mind and body. In particular, mental health is often overlooked, but it’s a very real challenge that faces each one of us either directly or through a loved one,” says Korey Neal, K. Neal president. “We are honored to be selected as a finalist. This award verifies that we are on the right track, and we will continue to find new and improved ways to address all aspects of wellness in the workplace.”

By continuing to listen and understand the needs of employees, K. Neal’s wellness initiatives will continue to grow and expand with a holistic view of health, the company says.
