Penske Truck Leasing has opened a new consumer and commercial truck rental, full-service truck leasing and contract truck fleet maintenance facility near the Otay Mesa Port of Entry in San Diego. This facility follows recent Penske facility openings in North Carolina, Wisconsin and the Chicago area.
“The Otay Mesa area is a fast-growing transportation market and we are excited to be the first full-service transportation company to open in this part of San Diego,” says Rick Pytlik, senior vice president, Penske’s western region. “We look forward to serving existing and new customers from our state-of-the-art and largest San Diego-area location.”
Penske in Otay Mesa sits on three acres and is 23,634 sq. ft. with eight truck bays. It’s Penske’s largest facility in the region. It’s the first Penske facility in the Southwest to have a box repair shop and the third Penske used truck center in the area, the company says.
The facility, located at 8710 Avenida de la Fuente, includes the company’s proprietary, fully digital and voice-directed truck fleet preventive maintenance process and connected fleet solutions — a value-added resource to help customers address issues and options related to onboard technology systems, such as ELDs, telematics and onboard cameras, Penske says.
