Air Systems Program
ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket launched a Meritor All-Makes Air Systems offering.
The program will feature an array of more than 1000 part numbers, including outright and remanufactured air valves, remanufactured air dryers, cartridges and service components, remanufactured air compressors, air brake hose assemblies and fittings.
The outright valve program will feature 50 of the fastest moving part numbers and more will be added through the year, according to the company.

Splash Guard Protection
Betts Spring Company recently introduced the DirectFlex system, a combination of the company’s spring steel mud flap hanger and its ChannelFlap.
The system reduces the problems of lost or torn mud flaps and destroyed hangers from curb pinches, said the company. The system is constructed of a non-welded, alloy spring steel that is pre-fastened to its mounting bracket with vibration-resistant Huck fasteners.
The company has designed four frame brackets which cover all current drill patterns for retrofitting mudflaps to vehicles.

Reverse Relay Module
Cole Hersee has developed the Forward & Reverse Relay Module (Part No. 24452), a 12v direct-current, high-power reversing relay module. According to the company, the module is ideal for tarp or lift applications, as well as for use on hoists, hatches, winches, snowplows, intake/exhaust fans, outriggers and other applications.
The module automatically reverses the motor direction on the second actuation of the momentary control switch, and a braking application stops the motor when the switch is returned to the off position. It is fully sealed for use in harsh environments and is intended for intermittent or continuous operation, according to the company.

Center Bearing
Spicer Drivetrain Components has developed the Spicer XC self-aligning center bearing to provide alignment within +/-10 degrees.
The bearing has a double-lip seal configuration to decrease contamination and elastomer material to decrease noise and vibration, the company said. It also is said to be approximately 1.3 lbs. lighter than previous center bearings.
According to the company, the bearing eliminates the need for dust shields and for multi-hanger bracket and crossmember configurations and is approved for all on- and off-highway applications.

Spring Brake
New from Haldex is the Life Seal spring brake. The brake’s zinc-plated steel chamber prevents water, salt, oil and other contaminants from entering the spring chamber and weakening the spring. Its housing has no vent holes, external breather tubes, cage tool plugs or filters, so the spring is isolated from the external environment and contaminants present in that environment, said the company.
The brake’s power spring is said to maintain high output force for an extended period of time over the minimum required output.

Oil Filter Line & Antifreeze
Fram has released the Wearguard TRT line of filters which are said to reduce acid and oxidation in engine oil while maintaining total base number levels.
The new line of oil filters includes the PH (Wearguard), the HPH (Wearguard heavy-duty) and the THP (Wearguard TRT). The products also feature redesigned can lithos and colors.
The Prestone heavy-duty antifreeze line includes the 977 antifreeze with supplemental coolant additives and the 9000 extended-life antifreeze available both in concentrate and a 50/50 formulation.

Air Disc Brake Pads
Marathon Brake has released a new line of air disc brake pads. These ceramic pads feature a secure-lock backing plate that secures the lining to the plate.
The product’s severe-service ceramic formulation with brass chips exhibits less wear, better braking effectiveness and less rotor wear than some brake pads currently available, according to the company. The disc pads are manufactured for Knorr-Bremse (Bendix) and Meritor WABCO applications.

RADAC Corporation’s new CuproBraze is a heavy-duty 100% brazed copper and brass airport tug radiator, the company said. It currently is available in two models.
The technology is designed to solve the frequent failure problems that often are associated with aluminum and light-duty copper and brass radiators, said the company.
Both of the new radiator units come with the company’s full 5-year heavy service warranty.

LED Work Lamp
Truck-Lite has taken a traditional incandescent work lamp and updated it with light-emitting diode (LED) technology.
The lamp is designed to operate in a 12v environment, but will function at full brightness from 8.5v to 16v, drawing 1.2 amps compared to an incandescent lamp’s 2.93 amp draw. It has a 100,000-hour lamp life and its six diodes are encapsulated in epoxy for protection against moisture and corrosion.
The pedestal-mounted product is made of a polycarbonate lens, powder-coated cast aluminum housing and stainless steel mounting hardware to combat corrosion. The lamp is designed to stand up to shock, vibration and direct impact, said the company.

URO Systems’ Shackle Bushing System has a freely-rotating spring pin design and a specially-formulated urethane that is self-lubricating and abrasion resistant.
The system provides strong dampening and suspension control, as well as increased control over suspension movement. It is designed to extend component life and improve overall vehicle handling as well as to reduce wear on the leaf springs and hangers, said the company.
