Improved Primary Wire Packaging
Phillips Industries announced improved, see-through packaging for spools of the company’s primary wire for easier identification. The new packaging covers 12- to 20-gauge primary wire in 11 different colors for use in all 4-, 6- and 7-way connector configurations.

Phillips says the new transparent packaging shows the color-coded concentric jacketing and indicates wire gauge size.

Stertil-Koni Adds In-ground Scissor Lift
With its acquisition of Fleet America Service Technology, Stertil-Koni has added a shallow-pit designed heavy-duty scissors lift to its product line. An alternative to piston lifts, the ECO Lift is an axle-engaging multi-scissors lift that emerges from a shallow pit. The company says the ECO Lift is machined with tolerances to one thousandth of one inch and is ANSI/ALI ALCTV-2006 certified.

The lift is designed to allow technicians to have easy access to wheel and brake assemblies and comes with a variety of adapters that will accommodate any axle configuration, according to the company; the lift also features a safety locking mechanism to help prevent unprompted lift descent. Its collapsible design makes it small enough to require only a 34-inch-deep pit instead of one that is six to nine feet deep for traditional axle-engaging piston-style lifts, Stertil-Koni says. The ECO Lift’s ultra-shallow pit requirements and bolt-in design allow for easy installation, according to the company, and it also can be removed and reinstalled with ease.

In addition to being compact (25 inches tall, 40 inches wide and 22 inches front to back, when collapsed) the ECO Lift has 30,000 pounds of lifting capacity, and multiple lift configurations accommodating 60,000 pounds and 90,000 pounds also are available. The ECO Lift, which can be controlled by a remote pendant, can operate on seven gallons of oil as opposed to traditional hydraulic piston-style lifts that use between 56 and 90 gallons, according to the company.

Ridewell Achieves Canadian Brake Certification Approval
Ridewell announced its Flex-Trac 232-20K auxiliary axle suspension has the only 16.5-by-6-inch brake approved by the Canadian Transportation Equipment Association for parking brake capacity under CMVSS 121. The brakes were approved by Link-Radlinski during industry testing for CTEA’s generic air brake testing program, according to the company.

The 20,000-lb. capacity Flex-Trac (232-20K) is a single-tire self-steering suspension system designed for flexibility. Each unit is designed to accommodate a wide range of ride heights and frame widths, and consistently maintain accurate axle location. Ridewell says the suspension, available in both truck and trailer versions, is a suitable alternative for leading kingpin suspensions at a lighter weight and lower cost.
