Red Dot Introduces Powered Filtration System
Red Dot Corp. introduced a new powered filtration system – the Precleaner/Filter/Pressurizer with Gideon Technology – for severe-service applications. The company said the system is designed to protect operators from harmful particulates and extend HVAC service intervals on machines with enclosed cabs.
The Precleaner/Filter/Pressurizer draws debris-laden air into a precleaner where the largest particles are removed and discharged back into the environment. Smaller particles are then captured using one of two filtration options: a high-capacity filter which provides a general level of protection (MERV 8), or a high-efficiency filter that can capture 99.97 percent of particles down to 0.3 microns, according to Red Dot. The high-efficiency option delivers High Efficiency Particulate Arresting (HEPA) level filtration.
Red Dot said the air that passes through the precleaner and filter media can be used to pressurize the cab and prevent dirty air from blowing back into the re-circulation filter and into the cab vent.
The Red Dot Precleaner/Filter/Pressurizer with Gideon Technology is available from Red Dot for original equipment applications and from Red Dot’s distributor network for aftermarket applications.
Smart Battery Isolator Prevents Draining
Cole Hersee Company introduced its new Smart Battery Isolator 48525 and 48530 that prevents loads on the auxiliary battery from draining the starting battery.
The smart battery isolator provides a more flexible solution than traditional isolators, according to the company, as it is not specific to an alternator type. Additionally, Cole Hersee said the smart battery isolator is smaller, lighter and generates less heat than competitive products.
Because the smart battery isolator reduces charging system workload by not connecting to the auxiliary battery until the primary battery is charged to 13.2 V, there is lower strain on expensive charging components, extending the product life.
No diode efficiency losses occur when using Cole Hersee’s smart battery isolator, and it also allows bi-directional charging from the alternator or from other power chargers/converters. The company said it is easy to install and also features an LED status indicator and operational start assist.
Power Cord Reel Comes with Hand Crank or Electric Motor
Coxreels introduced its new 1125 PCL Series power cord reel that it said is professional grade with an all-welded “A” Frame and can be powered by either a hand crank or an electric motor.
The 1125 PCL can accommodate up to 250 feet of 12/3 Gage and 200 feet of 10/3 Gage SO type power cord and has an integrated Cable Keeper to prevent the 5-foot pigtail from whipping or twisting.
Coxreels said this new addition is available with either a 30-AMP or 45-AMP slip ring assembly which is easily accessible through a removable panel and also comes equipped with a drum lock-pin to avoid free-wheeling and cable uncoiling during storage and transport. Additionally, it has self-lubricated pillow block bearings at each end of the drum for smooth rotation.
AirCenter has Rotary Screw Compressor
Kaesar’s new SX AirCenter includes a rotary screw compressor, dryer and tank in an integrated, space-saving unit. Available in 3 to 7.5 hp, the SX AirCenter provides pressures from 125 to 217 and capacities to 28.3 cfm.
Installing the system, according to the company, is as simple as connecting power and air lines.
Additionally, the units include a soundproofed enclosure to provide noise levels as low as 62 dBA, which Kaesar said is the lowest on the market. Maintenance is facilitated by an easily removable side panel, screw-on separator filter and the adjustment-free elastic drive belt.
The SX AirCenter comes standard with Sigma Control to regulate and monitor the unit and a clean air treatment package is optional.
Hendrickson Makes Lighter Paralift Lift Axle
Hendrickson said it reduced the weight of its Paralift lift axle system by 90 pounds with the new Paralift PST while still retaining the durability and versatility of its 20,000-pound steerable lift axle system. The PST comes with a Westport axle and D22 spindle and is available for a wide variety of Class 8 truck chassis.
The company said it enhanced driveline clearance and extended wheel cut to 25 degrees by redesigning the axle seats and moving the stabilizers inside the tie rod and connecting them to the axle brackets.
Hendrickson said the PST also retains features of previous Paralift models, including adjustability of frame width and ride height, allowing aftermarket installers and body builders to apply one unit to meet a wide variety of truck configurations.
The PST’s parallelogram design, according to Hendrickson, helps facilitate proper wheel tracking and helps keep lift plates parallel for longer air spring life.
Its trailing arm beams feature a single-paddle z-beam configuration, and has 12 inches of total travel with nine inches of lift in ride heights from 9.5 to 13.5 inches in a 28-inch package space. Zero-torsion trailing-arm bushings help eliminate bushing windup and allow for the two lift-spring configuration.
High Intensity Leak Detection Kit
Tracer Products introduced a new leak detection kit, the TP-8697HD, that includes a high-intensity OPTIMAX 3000 flashlight that is 15 times brighter than standard LED lamps.
The new kit, according to the company, allows technicians to find A/C and fluid leaks accurately the first time, preventing “costly comebacks.” The flashlight has an inspection range up to 20 feet and is powered by a rechargeable NiMH battery. The unit has a 50,000-hour service life.
The kit also includes an EZ-Ject A/C dye injector with hose and couplers; two EZ-Ject universal A/C dye cartridges with co-solvent free Fluoro-Lite dye (each 1/2-oz. cartridge can service up to 14 vehicles); an 8 oz. bottle of Dye-Lite All-In-One concentrated oil dye (services up to 16 vehicles); an 8 oz. bottle of Dye-Lite coolant dye (services up to 8 vehicles); fluorescence-enhancing glasses; and a plastic carrying case.
Replacement LED Indicators Come in Many Colors
APEM Components, Inc. introduced its Q-Series of LED indicators that it said offers a vibrant selection of colors, long-life expectancy and a durable design.
Offered in red, green, yellow, blue and white, the Q-Series indicators also are available with bicolor, tricolor and flashing LEDs. APEM said the Q-Series includes solder lug/quick-connect terminals, wire terminations and 200mm elongated wires. There are 6, 8 and 14mm package sizes; prominent, recessed and flush bezel styles; and bright chrome, black chrome and satin grey bezel finishes.
