Haldex reaches milestone

Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems announced the production of its two millionth brake shoe manufactured at one of the company’s New Generation Friction Centers. Haldex said it has updated four friction centers with the most progressive manufacturing process in the relining industry, which includes new equipment upgrades and a 30-point inspection procedure to ensure product quality. Over the past two years, Haldex has invested over one million dollars to create New Generation Friction Centers.

These production upgrades has led to many significant process and quality improvements, according to the company, including a 100 percent increase in reline capacity; a new paint process that improves corrosion resistance; hydraulic riveters and regular torque testing; and more production automation.
