“World’s Smallest” LED License Lamp
Truck-Lite said it is now offering the “world’s smallest” LED license lamp that is the size of a penny and provides trucks and trailers with greater efficiency and the latest in white diode technology.
The new lamp is part of the company’s 33 Series line which includes marker/clearance and auxiliary lighting.
“More and more customers are looking to LED Lighting for the extended lamp life and overall cost savings,” said Jay Davenport, Truck-Lite’s national sales director. “This single diode license lamp’s low profile minimizes physical damage, typical for this application, and gives off less heat to avoid issues that stem from heat entrapment.”
The 12v mini-license lamp is composed of polycarbonate and does not require a bracket. The grommet mount lamp can be installed directly into the vehicle, easy side or top mount application options are available. Truck-Lite said the low-profile, stealth design is not only resistant to damage, but hides the lamp away from view to help prevent theft.
Compact LVD Conserves Power
Cole Hersee announced its new SureStart Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD) Switch 48513 that electronically senses battery voltage and conserves starting power by disconnecting non-critical loads, prolonging battery life by preventing battery damage due to excessive discharge.
The company said the switch is ideal for utility and delivery vehicles, as well as vehicles with ancillary on-board equipment, such as snowplows, hoists, pumps, floodlights, etc., as well as in-cab amenities such as A/C. When battery drain occurs, there are substantial costs associated with downtime, vehicle recovery and battery damage due to over-discharge. These costs, the company said, can be eliminated when Cole Hersee’s SureStart LVD switch is used.
The switch has a rating of 100A at 12V or 24V DC. Its service life exceeds 1,000,000 on/off cycles, and it also features a manual override that allows users to connect or disconnect the switch when needed, regardless of voltage. The company said the SureStart LVD switch features a compact size (4.5 x 4 x 4.27 inches) which makes it easy to install into a new or old vehicle.
Compact, Cordless LED Leak Detector
Tracer Products introduced the TP- 8640CS OPTIMAX Jr. – a compact, cordless, blue light LED leak detection flashlight that reveals leaks in cramped areas inaccessible to larger lamps. It measures 7-/ inches (19cm) long, weighs 5 ounces (140g) and fits in a pocket.
According to Tracer, the new product works with all manufacturers’ fluorescent dyes, provides more than four hours of peak performance and has an inspection range of up to 6 feet (1.8m).
The OPTIMAX Jr. is powered by three AA batteries, which are included, and uses an LED bulb with a 100,000-hour life. The flashlight comes with fluorescence-enhancing glasses in a handy clamshell package.
