Shatner to present keynote address at The Work Truck Show

William Shatner will draw upon his nearly 60 years in show business to give the keynote address at The Work Truck Show 2010 and 46th Annual National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Convention. Shatner will speak at the President’s Breakfast and NTEA Annual meeting held on Thursday, March 11.

The Work Truck Show 2010 is held in conjunction with the 46th Annual NTEA Convention at America’s Center in St. Louis, Mo., March 10-12, 2010. During his keynote presentation at the President’s Breakfast, Shatner will share stories of his own fears and his evolution in dealing with them.

Shatner may be most famous for originating the role of Captain James T. Kirk in the Star Trek television series in the 1960s. He later reprised the role in seven Star Trek movies. Shatner went on to play the title role in the television series T.J. Hooker and hosted television’s first reality-based series, Rescue 911, for six seasons. He has won Emmy and Golden Globe awards for his television characters and currently is a celebrity spokesperson for Priceline.

In addition to his television and film credits, Shatner is also a best-selling author. He has written more than two dozen novels and non-fiction books.

“We are really looking forward to William Shatner’s keynote presentation,” says Jim Carney, NTEA executive director. “With his background, he is singularly qualified to demonstrate to our members and attendees that you can have more than one success in life and in business, if you work to move past your fears. He knows from experience that there is life after Captain Kirk.”

The President’s Breakfast and NTEA Annual Meeting at which Shatner will speak is open to show and convention attendees by ticket only. Tickets are $55 for NTEA members and $75 for nonmembers (if purchased on or before Jan. 22, 2010). A ticket also is included in the Complete Event Package, which is $299 for NTEA members and $379 for nonmembers (if purchased on or before Jan. 22, 2010).
