ProStar Offers Lightweight Hendrickson Suspension
Hendrickson Truck Suspension Systems announced that its weight-saving HTB LT rear air suspension now is available on International ProStar trucks. The non-torque reactive rear air suspension saves up to 263 pounds compared to industry standard 40,000 pound suspensions, Hendrickson said.
The HTB LT’s weight savings come from the design’s parallelogram geometry which eliminates leaf springs and reduces components. Additionally, the suspension’s torque box system improves multi-axial stability and control, Hendrickson said.
CP Introduces New 1/2-inch Impact Wrench
Chicago Pneumatic said it has brought to market the “world’s first and only” 1/2-inch pneumatic impact wrench with side-to-side (S2S Technology) forward/reverse functionality located directly above the trigger.
The company said the new wrench, called the CP7749, is “the easiest to use and most convenient one-hand forward/reverse system ever engineered in a pneumatic impact wrench.”
“The CP7749 is perfectly balanced, light at only 4.37 pounds, and packs a punch with 725 ft-lb of true, honest torque,” said Brian Dove, senior global product marketing manager for Chicago Pneumatic. “Combine those features with our patent-pending S2S Technology, and we’ve created a tool that virtually eliminates the wrist and forearm strain common with the use of typical impact wrenches.”
The company explained its S2S Technology allows technicians to effortlessly change between forward and reverse with one hand in any position. The three position regulator in forward provides control and helps to prevent over-tightening, while full power remains constant in reverse to ensure technicians have maximum power to remove fasteners without changing the setting in the forward position. The CP7749 also is available with a two-inch anvil (CP7749-2) for tire removal applications.
Grote Debuts Surface-mount Bracket for LED Interior Dome Lamps
Grote Industries said its Surface-Mount Bracket for its LED WhiteLight Interior Dome Lamps is designed specifically to provide flexibility and convenience to emergency and military vehicle operators. The company said the bracket, which can be engineered into new vehicles or retrofitted into existing vehicles, has a switch that enables the operator to turn the lamp on and off directly at the source of the light, instead of from the dashboard or other remote locations.
The company said it manufactures several LED WhiteLight Interior Dome Lamps in white, red/white and blue/white configurations, all of which are designed to provide bright LED illumination for more than 50,000 hours of operation and have a low surface temperature, which is critical when working in small, enclosed spaces.
Green Heavy-duty Soap
The new Gent-L-Green line of hand care items are biodegradable, petroleum-free, NPE-free and VOC-free. Products that have earned the Gent-L-Green seal include: Premium Blue Hand and Body Soap, Soy Blast Conditioner Enriched Hand Cleaner, Foaming Waterless Hand Cleaner and Foaming Gent-L-Kleen.
Vacuum/Micron Gauge
Tracerline announced its new TP-9365 PRO-Vac tool that allows technicians to check the vacuum level at every stage of the evacuation cycle, from atmosphere to one micron.
The company said the TP-9365 includes the technologically advanced Pirani sensor and has an operating range from 760,000 microns down to one micron. It has a large, easy-to-read LCD screen and displays readings in microns, Pascal or millibars.
Additional features, according to Tracerline, are a low-battery warning indicator, an automatic shutoff to conserve the battery life and an industry-first inline filter to protect the sensor from contaminants. The unit works with any standard vacuum pump.
The PRO-Vac comes with a 9V battery and spare filter, all packed in a rugged storage case.
