The American Council of Frame and Alignment Specialists announced it will hold technician training clinics September 14 and 15 at Akron Frame in Akron, Ohio.
Scheduled topics include:
- Kingpins – What are allowable tolerances for kingpins? When do kingpins and bushings need to be replaced? What is the proper maintenance for steer axles? Session will be led by Dana Corporation’s Bob Crepas.
- 2010 Diesel Fuel Systems – What do technicians need to be aware of when performing routine preventive maintenance? Can you cause major damage to the engine?
- 2010 Diesel Exhaust Systems – What maintenance do you need to be aware of? When you are performing service to vehicles with these systems what can you do to avoid damaging the system? Session will be led by representatives from Mack Trucks.
- Electric Hybrid Vehicles – How can you safely service the vehicle? Can you replace a broken leaf spring? Can you align the front end? Session will be led by representatives from Eaton Corporation.
- Proper Torque – Are you properly tightening the fasteners on the vehicles you perform maintenance on? Are the u-bolts tightened to the proper torque setting or are they close enough? Session will be led by representatives from Rad Torque.
