TMD Friction announced it has become the major supplier of disc brake pads for the China National Heavy Duty Truck Corporation (CNHTC), making it the top supplier of original equipment disc brake pads for commercial vehicles in China.
CNHTC, which sold 125,000 vehicles in 2009, is the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks in China. This agreement is the first major project for truck disc brake pads to be produced locally at TMD Friction in China.
TMD Friction said it established a new delivery process and a new production line especially for CNHTC.
“The successful cooperation with CNHTC and the customer awards are proof of our outstanding development and manufacturing competence in friction products. The successful project underscores once again our excellent local production quality and our ability to supply the global market. We are, accordingly, on course to generate further growth in China,” said Xiuzhan Zhu, general manager of TMD Friction China.
TMD Friction China received the 2009 SABS Best Supplier award and 2009 APG Best Quality Performance Supplier.
TMD Friction has been active in the Chinese market for more than ten years and has manufacturing facilities in Shijiazhuang and Hangzhou. The two plants annually produce approximately 13 million brake pads and linings for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
