Bendix Plant Has Accident-Free 2010

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC has announced its Acuña I manufacturing facility in Mexico completed the 2010 calendar year without a recordable accident.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) defines a recordable accident as a workplace injury that requires medical attention beyond first aid. According to Bendix, the Acuña safety program is measured by safety awareness metric, which measures proactive safety activities, monthly training and monthly safety audits.

“Achieving this milestone reflects the commitment of our local plant leadership and our workforce to embrace, enable and consistently implement a comprehensive safety culture,” says Maria Gutierrez, Bendix health, safety, and environmental manager. “World-class safety is integral to the long-term success of Bendix. Accident reduction translates to reduced costs, increased line productivity, and improved employee morale.
