Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp. resumes production

Updated Apr 18, 2011

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), the parent company of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc., has announced that it will resume production of vehicles at the company’s main Kawasaki Plant on April 20. This will be the first scheduled production run for the plant since a limited number of vehicles were assembled on March 29 and 30. Over the past few weeks, MFTBC has been producing maintenance parts and parts for knock-down (KD) kits used in overseas production as well.

MFTBC also announced that its subsidiary, Mitsubishi Fuso Bus Manufacturing Co., Ltd (MFBM), in Toyama, Japan, will resume production of large and small buses in the latter part of next week.

MFTBC is striving to ramp up production with safety, speed and efficiency, in support of its customers and the Japanese economy. However, due to the parts supply situation, Kawasaki and Toyama plant operations will be variable in the coming weeks, with the plants’ output gradually increasing.
